Measurement periods

Relevant calculates measures for rolling 12-month periods, since most quality measures are designed around this duration. Calculating them for shorter measurement periods can distort measure results.

Selecting a measurement period

Relevant defaults to the last 12-months, but you can choose any 12-month period from the past three years using the dropdown.

The options include:

• Last complete 12 months: The most recent 12-month period for which data is fully complete.
• Last 12 months: The most recent 12 months. Since the month is in progress, data does not yet reflect a full 12 months. This is the default.
• Calendar year: T he current calendar year. Since the year is in progress, data does not yet reflect a full 12 months.
• Last calendar year: The previous full calendar year.
• Other measurement periods: Provides access to all measurement periods from the past three years.

You can also select measurement periods directly by clicking on the trendline in the measure view.

Note: Some measurement periods may not appear at the very beginning of the month if the pipeline hasn’t finished calculating results for that period. Once the pipeline run completes, the latest measurement period will fully populate.
